How Does Stream Affect My Financial or Credit Applications?
When applying for loans or mortgages, your bank or lender might ask how the Stream app affects your salary or payslips. You can provide the following: We run an earned salary access program for your employer. This lets employees get a part of their earned wages before their regular payday. Salary payments might be spread out over the month instead of one payment. Even if an employee uses the app, all salary payments appear to come from the employer, whether through early wage access or as the regular salary. All earned wages accessed are balanced with the employee’s net salary during payroll processing on payday. At that time, the employee gets a Stream statement showing their activity. Any employee using the app can provide these activity statements along with their employer-issued payslips and bank statements, even if they have not transferred wages in a pay period. If your Mortgage provider needs any documents about Stream for your application, please contact the Customer Support Team and tell them what you need. We will be happy to help in any way we can! Will using the service affect my credit score? No. When you transfer, you are getting your earned wages in real time. Transferring is not a loan or credit, so it does not affect your credit score. If you are applying for the Stream Credit Card, please see the article on Credit Card for guidance. If you are applying for Workplace Loans, please see the article on Loans for guidance. *Some features might not be available to all users, depending on the agreement between your employer and the Stream app. Will using the service affect Universal Credit? Using the service does not change Universal Credit calculations or payments. This is because Universal Credit is based on information your employer gives to HMRC directly through their payroll, and we do not change your employer's payroll. For more information on Universal Credit, check out: Gov.uk Universal Credit article. Money Advice Service Universal Credit article. NOTE: Depending on your bank, your salary payment might arrive in your bank account slightly earlier than your scheduled payday. However, this does not change your official payday set by your employer. When giving information to HMRC for applications, please use the dates on your official payslip from your employer.
