How is streaming affected if I'm paid in arrears?

The below applies to those on an Arrears payroll. If you're paid on Advance, please see How is streaming affected if I'm paid in advance? instead.

What does 'paid in arrears' mean?

When your employer pays a salary after all shifts in a pay period have been performed, typically several days after that pay period has ended, this is known as an 'Arrears' payroll.

Example: John Smith works shifts during the 1st – 31st July pay period and is paid net wages for those shifts on 10th August.

What does 'paid in arrears' mean when using Wagestream?

Since you can access your wages as they're earned and reported to us right up until payday, there will always be a date range in which your available balance will include wages from two pay periods: the previous pay period and the current pay period. We call this the Arrears Zone.

This means that if you transfer any of your earned wages during the Arrears Zone, you may potentially access wages from:

  • your current pay cycle

  • your previous pay cycle

-OR-

  • both at the same time.
